Day 4, Thursday Chronicles: Coffee, Creativity, and a Tuk-Tuk Tale

Thursday started off strong with back-to-back meetings. After a quick team debrief, we divided into two groups: Maeve, Spencer, and I met with our client, while Caley, Tara, and Dan met with Mr. Selva of the Kuilai Creative Centre.

Later in the day, we regrouped at the Thamarai After Schools, where we were given a tour of their educational facility and had the chance to speak with several facilitators. A highlight of the tour was seeing the innovative learning tools available to the children—robots, interactive globes, and more!

In the afternoon, we split up again. Dan, Tara, and I interviewed some of Auroville’s youth at Marc’s CafĂ©. Yummy tea, coffee, and snacks were an added bonus. Spencer and Maeve interviewed Raman, a longtime Aurovillian, while Caley set off on her first tuk-tuk adventure, forming a lifelong friendship with Raja, the driver.

As our action-packed day wound down, we gathered for a guesthouse dinner before heading to the studio to get some work done. However, the evening's productivity quickly fizzled as we began to fade. Despite some attempts at cozy, low-energy work (as pictured), it had the opposite effect, and we called it a night shortly after.

Quotes of the Day
Quote 1: Before this day, Ajay had been our trusted guide, advising us on what to eat to keep our stomachs happy. This was one of our first meals without his wisdom, so we adopted the mantra,
“WWAD – What Would Ajay Do?”

In this case, we figured Ajay would definitely remove the ice from his coffee.
Quote 2: This one needs no context. It is nothing but facts.

“Immodium is no use to you if you don’t have it in the room” - Maeve
